Oconee River Preserve is built by two local custom home builders in partnership– Premier Home Builders, Inc. and Veritas Homes owned by John Gatlin. John and Robert area long-time friends and business partners. Here are the details about their companies:
Robert Bowman launched Premier Home Builders in 1992, but in reality, the company initiated many years prior to then. Robert is a second generation home builder, having built homes with his father all throughout his growing up years. Robert remembers growing up in the front seat of his dad’s pickup truck, spending summers working on his dad’s home construction projects.
Throughout his formative years, Robert’s Dad taught him the lessons he has carried on throughout his career and life. Included in these lessons are the value of taking pride in whatever you build, and Robert brings that to every project he tackles. He also taught Robert that the homes you build are for the people you build them for (and not for you). In this way, Robert was trained to be a custom homebuilder from an early age, and able to learn how to satisfy the needs of his customers as their project is something they have to enjoy for many, many years ahead. Robert graduated from Emory with an undergraduate degree, and went on to become a commercial lender before heading to Georgia State for law school. He tried– but he couldn’t get the sawdust out of his blood and went back to home building in the middle of the 1980’s. Once he started Premier Home Builders, he never looked back and has been doing what he loves ever since. He describes himself as a “man lucky enough to be doing what he loves.” Home building is his passion.
Thirty-five years later, Robert has developed numerous subdivisions around the metro-Atlanta area, and built custom homes in Buford, Dacula, Oakwood, Jefferson, and Bethlehem. Veritas Homes, Inc. was founded by John Gatlin, a builder personally known and respected by many trades throughout the Atlanta area for over 30 years. John started Veritas Homes, Inc. is a custom home design/build company. John has been working in the metro-Atlanta area for decades, building custom homes for his clients.
